Dr. Fontaine is the author of Only One Body, the owner’s manual you wish you’d been given at birth. You’ll learn how to fuel, train, and recover the only body you’ll ever get. The book will also inspire you to imagine life without limits and become your own best healthcare advocate.  

Focusing on sports medicine, human performance, and resilience,  Dr. Fontaine is a chiropractic physician serving patients in Northern Virginia using integrative treatments in manipulative therapies, exercise, performance, and collaborative care. He’s committed to excellence and values a patient-centric focus, consistently giving them the highest quality care possible.  `

Trained at Texas Back Institute, he is licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine, holds certification with the American College of Sports Medicine, and is a Full Body Certified Active Release (ART) provider.  He has worked with the Ironman Medical Team, two Major League Baseball teams, and the Alexandria Aces Baseball Team of the Cal Ripken Collegiate Summer League.

As a member, he has worked with DC Tri Club, Trident Athletics (formerly Trident CrossFit), and Capital MMA.  Dr. Fontaine has completed over 30 Triathlons, including IRONMAN 70.3 Timberman, St. Anthony’s Triathlon, and Daytona Frogman.  He is also a Fairfax County Fire & Rescue volunteer Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)/Firefighter.

Author of the Potomac Physical Medicine blog and several online publication platforms, Dr. Fontaine has been a guest on numerous podcasts and enjoys speaking to athletes sharing insights into preventing injury, resolving pain, and optimizing athletic performance. He’s published in Triathlete Magazine, the Journal of the American Chiropractic Association, and StrengthCoach.com.

He’s often quoted saying, “Patients have the right to be treated in their best interest, not based on what an insurance carrier deems ‘medically necessary.’” 

He lives with his wife in Northern Virginia.
