Dr. Bao-Tich Nguyen, DACM, MAOM, Dipl. O.M. (NCCAOM), L.Ac. received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from George Mason University. He went on to earn his Doctorate and Master’s degrees in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in Asheville, North Carolina. During his studies, Dr. Nguyen completed two years of clinical internship, where he treated patients with acupuncture, e-stim, cupping, moxibustion, tui na (therapeutic massage), gua sha (myofascial release), and herbal medicine. During this time, he took several intensive courses, including an In-Depth Study of Chinese Dietary Therapy with Master Jeffrey Yuen.
With extensive training in both Classical Chinese Medicine (CCM) and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Dr. Nguyen provides safe, effective, and compassionate health care to all of his patients. He specializes in pain relief, stress management, digestive problems, sleep disorders, and psycho-emotional imbalances that lead to depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Dr. Nguyen’s acupuncture treatments focus on addressing both the root (cause) and branch (symptoms) of each presenting pattern. He formulates treatment plans based on the needs of his patients with the goal of helping them achieve optimal health in body, mind, and spirit.
Dr. Nguyen is nationally board certified in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) with a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine. He is currently licensed to practice acupuncture and Chinese medicine in Virginia.
