Massage therapy is one of the oldest and simplest forms of healing. It is a system comprised of stroking, pressing, stretching, and kneading different areas of the body to tone, relax, and relieve pain. Massage does much more than create a pleasant sensation on the skin; it also affects the soft tissues (muscles, tendons, and ligaments), enhancing muscle tone and function. Although massage largely affects those muscles just under the skin, its benefits also reach the deeper layers of muscle and even the organs themselves. Massage can assist in stimulating blood circulation and helps the lymphatic system (which runs parallel to the circulatory system), improving the elimination of waste throughout the body.
Our practice has four very devoted and skilled massage therapists: Kyori, Fen, Erin, and Sherry. All are very experienced in treating sports injuries such as joint sprains, muscle strains, overuse injuries, blunt trauma and contusions. However, deep-tissue sports massage therapy is not the only form of massage we offer.
Our therapists also offer:
- Muscle Release Technique, stretching exercises which can be done with the massage
- Swedish and Effleurage, which is a sweeping, more relaxing technique
- Prenatal and pregnancy massage
- Geriatric massage
- Active Release Technique (A.R.T.)
- Sports massage
